Happy February all!  I wanted to share with you an anniversary card I recently made for my boyfriend – we just celebrated 3 years of dating which translates into 1, 096 days, 26, 304 hours and 1,578,240 minutes together.  The time figures are exactly what I used to try and make him a card that wasn’t soo cheesy with hearts and other girly type pictures and of course I wanted to include my handwriting in some way.  So I came up with this draft of the card for him:

Here’s a close up of the actual writing on the card:

And the finally product:

I have been working on my Handwriting Project for February 2010 and will hopefully be able to at least blog about the draft of it soon.  I am excited because it’s something near and dear to my heart!

For the past week or so I have been addressing Save the Dates and today I finished!!  See this is me hard at work with my lightbox! :)

Have a great weekend!  until next time…beth

Back when I started this website I was making a lot of baby shower invitations and cards (for my mom – my best customer!) and would put my website on the back of each one.  I got SO tired of writing out www.lifesafont.com that the brilliant idea came to me of having a stamp made using my own handwriting which I did.  See -

Recently when a couple of my good friends who are getting married asked me to address their Save the Dates for them we discussed getting them a self-inking stamp for their return address.  I am in LOVE with the self-inking stamp!  I wish I had one for my home address and my website address instead of the rubber stamp!  And think what a time saver it is for bride’s with all the thank you cards you write, using it as the return address for your Save the Dates OR even using it for your return address for your wedding invitations.  Not to mention the fact that when Christmas rolls around you already have your return address stamp for your Christmas cards….and when you and your husband have your first baby you already have an address stamp for your Birth Announcements.  There are so many reasons having a self-inking stamp with your address on it could come in handy!  Here is a glimpse of the stamp itself and then it on paper that I had done for my friends -

In 5 hours I am taking off for Hawaii with two of my girlfriends to visit another one who is currently living in Honolulu.  For our annual beach trip this year I had some shirts made for us with a word collage on them featuring memories from past trips in my own handwriting…here is a pic of it below:

I finished my invitations for the baby shower I’m throwing next month and wanted to share them with you.  I love making invitations for parties I am throwing – I feel like sometimes those give them that extra special touch.  I’ve included a picture of the pile of invitations below for your viewing pleasure.  I think my mom and I threw a baby shower together when I was 18ish so this will be my first baby shower were I really am apart of the process of it happening.  There will more than likely be pictures of the baby shower decorations so be looking for that next month.  I’m so excited for Mandy and to finally be an aunt even if technically it’s only an honorary aunt position. :)

I sure have been absent from my blog for awhile, but I’ve been hard at work on all things baby – one of my best friends is pregnant and due in September.  I completed a picture frame for her similiar to the one currently set as this site’s header, but in the colors of her nursery (green, black & white).  I’ve included a picture of the final product below with the baby’s name so there is an element of my own handwriting as part of it.  Although please excuse the paper being slanted, I didn’t tape it down and it fell. I still have some more projects for the nursery to complete that I might post even though my handwriting won’t be apart of them.  Next post will feature her baby shower invitations that I’ve made.  I’m so excited to throw my first baby shower for a friend and cannot believe I’m old enough for my friends to have babies.  Hope you like the frame…

Also, the baby invitations I blogged about on May 8th were made for the baby shower this friend threw for her sister…these little girls are lucky to be cousins that will be the same age!

Happy Mother’s Day!  I was unable to finish one of my presents for my mom so she is patiently waiting for it and have no doubt, it WILL be posted on this site when it is completed.  I didn’t want her to not have anything from me on Mother’s Day so I was able to purchase a nice vase from Michael’s with a 50% off coupon – I currently love Michael’s and all of their coupons they are giving out.  I used some pink ribbon and strong tape to put the hot pink ribbon around the vase to add a little something more to the vase, and then of course made a sign to also attach to the ribbon.  For anyone hosting a baby or bridal shower or even having to do most of the decorating for their own wedding – this is a great way to spice things up and give it some flair with a decorative ribbon or plain ribbon with your own added embellisments.

Uh oh!  I haven’t blogged lately…I have had a few things to blog, but hadn’t done it and I apologize if you are a loyal follower. :)  Here is a baby shower invitation I did in April for a shower one of my best friends was hosting.  I used a stamp this time to mix things up and make this invitation a little different than the ones I have previously done.  I hope you like it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Brett!  Today is my friend’s birthday and he just happens to be temping at my office currently, so in honor of his birth I made him a High School Musical themed sign with the East High mascot and everything.  I am quite proud of my wildcat picture hence why I included a single picture featuring just that.

Sorry for a lack in updating recently!  If you know me well you know that I am obsessed with Dove milk chocolate candy and as I’ve been eating it lately I’ve been enjoying the messages they put on the inside of the wrappers.  I came across one particular message on the other day that I love and wrote it out for you to enjoy as well:

And if you looked really closely you can see that I had attempted to write something on the other side in sharpie and it bleed through the paper a little bit -oopsie!  until next time…beth

Well, it turns out that I was a slacker big time last week on producing a lot of wedding-esque projects.  Believe it or not I’m STILL working out some kinks on the perfect modern wedding invitation that is floating around in my head, but I will conquer it – I just know it!  In the meantime I took a wedding break to make some birthday cards as tomorrow is one of my best friend’s birthdays and here is a nice simple birthday card with my handwriting on it:

I have yet to perfect what I have envisioned in my head as what I want for my sample of a modern wedding invitation, so that’s my project this weekend and I will suceed in making it happen!  In the meantime I’ve made few place cards that perhaps could be used for a wedding shower or bridal luncheon.  I’ve been playing around a lot with using stamps instead of just solely out of paper.  Here are a couple of samples:

Well, this week has turned out to be a bit busier than I expected so today instead of my own original creation you get someone else’s.  After looking through a lot of blogs and websites I found on the wedding chicks blog that they were doing a clutch purse giveaway from Beegee bags.  They make these cuuute clutch purses and can even custom make them to match your bridesmaids dresses.  What a neat gift for your bridesmaids…they may not have fallen in love with your choice of bridesmaids dress but they are sure to fall in love with your gift to them.  While these specific clutches might be a little bit pricey I’m sure you could find something else locally or just remember that they can be custom made to fit your wedding and your bridesmaids.  Here are a couple of my favorite ones:

Spring is officially here and once spring has arrived we all know that summer will be here in no time and with summer comes “wedding season.”  Since wedding season is soon to arrive I’ve decided to devote at the very least this week to my own wedding projects as well as some cute wedding ideas I have found in all the websites and mags that I constantly peruse.  There is SO much to pick from when it comes to weddings and to start off do you want to be a traditional bride or a modern bride or even a combination of the both?  One of the main traditions that seems to become more and more modern with every passing year is the wedding invitation.  It seems so common for brides to decide to incorporate their own personality into the invitation instead of keeping it traditional.  For your view pleasure I have created a somewhat traditional wedding invitation and thus my project for today.

Last night I was unable to do anything creative as I was fully emersed in….

It is actually rare for me to spend a Thursday evening working on creative ideas as I spend them with my boyfriend unless one of us is out of town or something of that nature.  But I do have big creative plans for the weekend and will hopefully have a lot to show for it come the next blog post.  Until next time…..beth
